Large-Scale Motorized Retractable Roof | Throw Social – Delray Beach, FL

Completed in 2020, this landmark project at Throw Social in Delray Beach stands as one of the largest motorized retractable roof installations in Florida at the time. Designed to transform a high-energy entertainment venue into a fully weather-adaptive space, Artepatio engineered and installed a massive aluminum structure covering over 4,000 square feet of outdoor patio.

The challenge was not only scale, but performance. The retractable roof system had to seamlessly adapt to South Florida’s intense sun, sudden rain, and year-round operation—without disrupting the venue’s open-air atmosphere or crowd flow. Artepatio delivered a fully motorized roof system that opens and closes effortlessly, allowing the venue to transition instantly between open-sky events and full weather protection.

Integrated LED lighting throughout the structure enhances nighttime ambiance and supports the venue’s entertainment-driven identity, while the robust aluminum framework ensures long-term durability under constant commercial use. The design allows Throw Social to operate at full capacity regardless of weather, significantly increasing usability, revenue potential, and guest comfort.
